This week, Kerry Fitzpatrick, a convicted puppy farmer, was sent to jail for breaching a court order that banned her from breeding animals, after causing years of suffering for hundreds of dogs and puppies.
The cycle of abuse for profit has finally been broken, and all the surviving dogs from this case now know love and safety in forever homes.
But there are so many mamas and babies who are still suffering across our state in the name of profit, and they need you now.
In the last year, we rescued 553 South Australian animals as part of large-scale seizures of 20 animals or more from a single property (a big jump from the previous year).
Over the last year, our small but mighty legal team have successfully prosecuted 37 matters in the courts, including several cases relating to low-welfare breeding operations and puppy farms. Cases often take months or years to finalise, and during this time the costs keep rising.
Many of these animals come to us traumatised and shut down, with a range of mental and physical health conditions.
We need your help to put back together the pieces of their broken hearts and bodies.
Please make a loving donation today to help expose puppy farms, get justice in the courts and give mistreated dogs a second chance.
