Freddie's Fund

This small senior terrier came into our care this week in a horrific state, having been neglected and denied vital vet treatment for several months.

His severely matted fur was entangled with faeces and grass seeds, causing severe discomfort.

Freddie was in a bad way, and our vet team needed to act quickly.

He has now undergone a full clip under anaesthetic, wound clean, dental surgery, blood test, and been given pain relief and antibiotics.

He was suffering from such severe dental disease that all his remaining teeth had to be extracted.

Freddie’s medical costs have already reached $2,500 and will continue to rise.

As a community funded charity, it is only with your compassion that we can ensure Freddie gets the treatment he desperately needs.

He will likely need long-term medication to treat his painfully inflamed and infected eyes. It is expected Freddie’s left eye will need to be surgically removed, taking the bill to over $4,000.

With your help, we’re determined to give this sweet senior a chance to live out his twilight years in a loving home.

He may end up being completely blind but given the incredible resilience he has shown so far, we’re confident this won’t stop him from living a full life.

*The goal for Freddie’s fundraiser includes the cost of a full clip and wound clean under anaesthetic, full mouth extraction of remaining teeth, multimodal pain relief and antibiotics, eye removal surgery and long-term eye medication. If his medical and care costs are less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals in need.
