Update 4/8/22: Summer’s surgery was a success and after two months of challenging crate rest, she is well on the road to recovery.
But the reality is that we are still significantly out-of-pocket, falling well short of our target of $6000 needed to cover her medical costs. If you haven’t yet chipped in and have the capacity to do so, we would be so grateful – every little bit counts!
She was lucky to survive. Now she needs your help to make a full recovery. Following the accident, Summer was rushed to an emergency vet centre where they took x-rays and provided pain relief and IV fluids.
She is now in the capable hands of our vet team at the Lonsdale shelter. Summer will need surgery to repair her fractured leg and careful monitoring to ensure her injuries heal properly.
At just two years old, we are confident that with the right care, Summer can have a bright future ahead of her. But we can only make this happen with your support.
As a community funded organisation, we already rely on generous donations to run our day-to-day animal care operations.
On top of this vital daily work, sometimes an animal like Summer comes into our care in a critical condition, and we find ourselves in urgent need of extraordinary funds for their medical treatment. That’s where you come in. (Click below to read more…)
