A stray living rough on the streets of Whyalla, Lucy was saved from a dog fight by a Good Samaritan and brought into our loving care.
When they conducted an examination, our vet team were shocked by the plethora of medical conditions Lucy has accrued.
She has broken and missing teeth (likely from the fight), third eyelid prolapse (or ‘cherry eye’), chronic ear infections, conjunctivitis, lumps on her chest and tail, possible heart issues, and very itchy skin.
It’s clear that life hasn’t been easy for Lucy. But with the right medical care, her prognosis is strong. And with you on her side, her future is bright.
Surgery to treat her swollen, painful ears is the urgent priority. Then blood tests and a full assessment while under anaesthetic, likely with many more procedures to follow. It’s only with the compassion of animal-lovers like you that we can cover these costs.
Lucy was clearly shaken by her traumatic ordeal and is understandably quite nervous around dogs. She is currently enjoying some respite in our volunteer office, where the team have already fallen in love with her sweet nature.
Will you shower Lucy with love, perhaps for the first time in her life?
Thank you for contributing to her emergency fund – we are so grateful for your kindness.
*The goal for Lucy’s fundraiser includes the cost of treatment for her chronic ear infection, blood tests, dental surgery, eye examination and treatment, potential lump removals, pain relief and post-operative care. If her medical and care costs are less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals in need.
