Vet Equipment Fund

Vet Equipment Fund

We are in desperate need of a new pulse oximeter for our vet centre – a machine used to monitor patients while under anaesthetic.

Our fingers and paws are crossed that our big-hearted supporters will come to the rescue to help us raise the $3000 needed to purchase one as soon as possible.

This crucial monitoring equipment is used daily, for every surgery we conduct – from desexing to tumour removals and major dental work. Your donation today will help save the lives of critically ill animals like Felix (pictured left), and get them ready for adoption.

With large numbers of animals in care, our surgery schedules are full. On our busiest days, we can desex up to 80 cats a day – which means 80 cats ready to find their forever homes.

But we can’t do this without the right equipment, or without your support.

Head Vet Nurse, Ashlea, explains why this is so important:

“To ensure our vet team can provide the best care for our patients, we need to have up-to-date monitoring equipment. A new pulse oximeter will mean that our nurses can monitor more patients at a time, and help them stay safe under anaesthesia.”

If we can hit our stretch target of $6000, we will also purchase two portable handheld pulse oximeters, which would enable our team to safely conduct concurrent surgeries.

More surgeries each day means we can get animals out of the shelter and into loving homes sooner.

Thank you for making a tangible difference to the lives of sick, injured and abandoned animals.

*The goal for this fundraiser includes the cost of one comprehensive pulse oximeter (pictured right), used to measure oxygen levels, blood pressure and heart rate of patients under anaesthetic, and two smaller portable hand held pulse oximeters (pictured with Felix above). Any additional funds raised after costs are recouped, will be used to provide care for animals in need of urgent veterinary treatment.*
