Our Animal Ambulance picked her up from an emergency vet clinic where she had undergone xrays and had her leg bandaged to give it some support.
Back at the Lonsdale shelter, our vet team conducted a full check-up and applied a pain management patch. They described Misha as “a very good girl who enjoys cuddles and thinks she is a lapdog (despite her size)”.
The severe fracture will require specialist orthopaedic surgery to repair, using pins and plates to secure the bones back in place.
If you’re a pet owner, you’ll know that vet treatment doesn’t come cheap, especially specialist care.
Even with a generous discount from our external vet partner, we estimate the surgery, plus the additional costs of rehabilitation, pain management, and follow up x-rays, will set us back around $4000.
Will you donate to Misha’s emergency fund to help cover the costs of her vital surgery?
