The sweet Pomeranian had a swollen and incredibly painful ruptured right eye, as well as bruising and scars across her face and head.

The damage to Pepper’s right eye was so severe that our vet team determined that immediate surgical removal was the best option. But this is just the first of several medical interventions she will need to alleviate her suffering.

It’s very likely that Pepper’s left eye will also need to be removed, as it is non-visual and causing her pain. In addition, she needs a hernia repair operation and major dental surgery.
We estimate her medical costs will be at least $5000 (but could climb to $8,000). As a community-funded organisation, we can’t shoulder this cost on our own – especially with the rising cost of living putting additional pressure on our shelter operations.
