Maia's Fund

Maia's Fund

Maia means ‘courage’ in Maori language – which this beautiful four-month-old pup has no shortage of.

In a badly-timed dash, she was hit by a car, leaving her covered in oozing wounds and painful road rash.

Maia was rushed to an emergency vet. Her owners had to surrender her as they couldn’t provide the ongoing care she needed. Her fate was looking grim. That’s when our rescue team answered the call.

It is the kindness of animal-lovers like you that allows us to give animals like Maia a lifesaving second chance.

She arrived at our Lonsdale shelter in the animal ambulance, bandaged and unable to walk.

Our vet team worked overtime to provide the treatment she needed. Under anaesthetic, they tended to the gaping wounds and administered medication to ease her pain.

With you on her side, we’re confident Maia’s wounds will heal, and she’ll have a long, joyful life ahead of her.

But we need your help to get Maia through the next stages of her recovery, shoulder the costs of her care, and continue to be there for animals in urgent need. Please share your love today.

*The goal for Maia’s fundraiser includes the cost of anaesthetics, wound care, pain relief, desexing surgery, and repeat vet checks. If her medical and care costs are less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals in need.
