Vet Equipment Fund

We’ve moved into our new home at O’Halloran Hill. But unexpected costs incurred during the build have left us short on the funds needed to purchase vital equipment for our vet centre.

Our big-hearted vet team are counting on animal lovers like you to help raise the $26,732 needed to fund this life-saving equipment as soon as possible.

Your help is urgently needed to purchase:

  • 2 x custom-built surgical tables ($6,851 each)
  • 1 x ECG machine ($4,819)
  • 3 x resuscitation carts ($2,737 each)

We brought over as much as we could from our old clinic at Lonsdale, including four surgical tables – but it’s just not enough. We desperately need the above items, as an absolute minimum, to be operational in our new, expanded vet centre.

This financial year alone, the team have conducted a whopping 3,316 surgeries. In our new state-of-the-art vet centre, they will be able to save even more lives.

But they can’t do it without the right equipment, or without your kindness.

Acting Chief Veterinarian, Dr Fauve Buckley (pictured here with Ozzy the cat), explains the importance of having adequate surgical tables:

“These tables are essential to our work as they provide a V-shaped cradle for animals, aiding in desexing procedures (of which we do over 100 each week). They feature a hydraulic system for easy patient manoeuvrability, and tilting capability for dental work and complex procedures.”

The bottom line is – more surgical tables means more surgeries each day, which means getting more animals into loving foster or forever homes sooner.

The ECG machine is used to diagnose heart conditions, as well as monitor the vital signs of a sick animal, to keep them safe and stable during surgery.

Resuscitation carts – one in each treatment room – contain everything our team needs in one place to save an animal’s life in an emergency.
