Vet Emergency Fund

Vet Emergency Fund

Your love can provide critical vet care to animals in desperate need.

They come into our care sick, injured, frightened and in pain. Their stories are heart-wrenching – these vulnerable animals may have survived unimaginable cruelty and neglect, or were perhaps left to fend for themselves on the streets for months.

In emergency situations, every second counts. We don’t always have the luxury of time to set up a special appeal for the animals that come to us in most dire need.

That is why we have established the Emergency Vet Fund – to give our big-hearted South Australian community of animal lovers like you, the opportunity to help animals in critical conditions.

Your kindness allows our veterinarian team to get straight to work, providing life-saving emergency treatment and surgery for animals in most desperate need.

When our animal ambulance picks up a patient requiring critical care, driving the distance to our Lonsdale shelter in the South is not always a feasible option. We are grateful for the support of our external veterinarian partners, who assist us in these emergencies.

While we can’t plan for these emergencies, we will never turn away an animal in a critical condition.

But when you add up the costs of external vet fees, anaesthesia, blood tests, overnight monitoring, specialist medication and surgical procedures – they quickly stack up.

As a community-funded charity, we simply can’t afford to provide emergency treatments without your help.

Your compassion can literally save lives, by ensuring we can provide critical care in time. You can help provide animals with the urgent treatment they need and give them a second chance at finding a loving home.

Even when we don’t get the outcome we hope for and an animal doesn’t pull through, we will do whatever we can to keep them comfortable, covering the cost of pain relief and palliative care.

Your loving gift to our Vet Emergency Fund will help ensure we can be here for all creatures great and small, in their time of greatest need.

Thank you for your compassion and commitment to saving animals.
